Residential Wells: 5 - 6"

All our Residential wells are drilled with a minimum of 40 feet of casing.  The casing is sealed with a Bentonite grout using a perfected method only practiced by MWD.  See Grouting The Casing below for more details.

All wells are left with a Vermin-Proof cap.

We test water for Nitrates, Salinity, Conductivity, & Temperature while drilling on site.

All wells are disinfected upon completion.

GPS coordinates are taken at each well.  All information concerning a well is recorded in a well report and a copy is sent to the home owner and the Department of Environment.

Downhole Video Cameras

We have 3 borehole cameras.  One is for both field use and is with the rig for on site    troubleshooting while drilling.  Another is designated for use with our Air Camera Casing Test.  And the third camera is available for troubleshooting in general.  Video can be recorded on DVD at owners request.  Click Well Videos for Downhole footage.

The Casing Test

At MWD we invented a way to check the casing for leakage in, or at the bottom of the pipe.   This is done by putting the well under air pressure.  The water level is pushed down to the bottom of the casing while a downhole video camera is used to inspect the welds and seal at the bottom.  If there are any leaks in the casing, or if the seal at the bottom of the casing is leaking.  It can easily be seen with the camera when the well is under pressure.  Click Well Videos for Casing Test footage.

Grouting The Casing

Having a properly grouted casing is very important.  If not, the well may be vulnerable to surface water containing harmful bacteria like Ecoli.  And other contaminants such as Nitrates.

At Manderson Well Drilling, we use a grouting method with Borehole Packers(see left).  These packers expand under air pressure inside the bottom of the casing.  The bentonite slurry is then pumped through the middle of the packer.  Forcing the grout up, and around the outside of the casing to the top of the ground.  Filling any cavities in the rock or till on the way.   This method is only used by MWD and guarantees a proper grout seal every time.

Guarantees

Things Manderson Well Drilling are responsible for:

The well casing must be grouted and sealed so that no surface water can enter the well via the outside of the casing.  All welds must be tight.

Things Manderson Well Drilling are not responsible for:

Anything beyond our control, such as hard water, or high nitrate levels.  Bacteria that is getting into the aquifer by some other means such as an old open well near by, or a vertical fracture in the bedrock.  Any problems caused by over sizing pumps, or installing a pump to a depth that is not compatible with that well.

Any problems caused by using cable guards or torque arresters in a well.  The improper installation of a vermin proof cap.

Geothermal

Manderson Well Drilling is CGC accredited to do drilling & loop installations for any Residential/Commercial projects.

Commercial/Industrial Wells: 6 - 18"

We can drill up to 18 inches and Pump Test up to 1200 GPM U.S.

The flow is measured by a digital water meter.

The info from the well is collected by a water level datalogger.  Which uses infra-red data transfer technology to record the water level, temperature, & conductivity.  Data from the probes can be monitored at the site with a laptop.
