Manderson Well Drilling is a family owned & operated company, founded by owner John Manderson in 1986.
Before well drilling, John was already a skilled tradesman. Involved in welding, blacksmithing, diesel engine mechanics, fishing, and sawmilling. It all began for John while driving down a road in Eastern PEI, when he noticed an odd looking machine for sale. Curious at what it was, he pulled over to take a closer look. The old fella who owned it, said it was a well drilling machine, that broke down and never got fixed. Amazed by the old rig, John bought it and took it home to his machine shop to be rebuilt. Once he got it working, and made some changes of his own. John started drilling water wells, and Manderson Well Drilling was born.
In the years that followed, John built a solid reputation with his customers for being dependable, honest, and hard working. Also, by building customized equipment for his drill rigs, and inventing well casing inspections for water wells. John quickly became a pioneer in the well drilling industry for Prince Edward Island.
In 1995, John's son, Jackson just got out of high school and started working with his father. After several years drilling with the company. Jackson spent some time in Alberta testing natural gas wells and doing heli-portable seismic drilling. Once the drilling season ended, Jackson returned to PEI, where he stayed to follow in his fathers footsteps.
Since then, Manderson Well Drilling has expanded and upgraded their drilling equipment for both Residential and Commercial water wells. The company also has state of the art well testing probes, to provide the most up to date technology to better serve their customers.
Together, John & Jack both believe that "if you want it done right, you have to do it yourself." And they do just that.
